At 1859, whilst already out on exercise, the lifeboat was requested to search for a nine year old boy missing from the Herne Bay area.

Kent Police and the Margate and Herne Bay Coastguard teams also took part in the search. The lifeboat searched along the shoreline between Herne Bay and Reculver, before being stood down at 2030.

The missing boy was subsequently found safe and well ashore.
