Thames Coastguard requested the lifeboat to launch to assist a broken down jet ski 1 mile north east of Herne Bay. One person was reported to be attempting to swim ashore.

The lifeboat arrived on scene and firstly rescued the  swimmer, who was very difficult to spot in the water. Fortunately, Herne Bay Mobile Coastguard Unit had been able to keep him under observation. The jet ski and it's three remaining occupants were then taken ashore to Herne Bay Harbour.
