Whitstable Lifeboat launched to assist Sheerness Lifeboat in a search for two men believed to have put to sea early in the morning from the Whitstable area, and not heard from since shortly after setting out.

Coastguard shore units also searched the beaches of Sheppey and the mainland between Whitstable and Minnis Bay.
