The lifeboat was launched to assist a broken down jet-skier off Leysdown. On arrival, the casualty was found to be very cold, having been in the water for 40 minutes, so he was taken immediately to the shore, where an ambulance crew  was waiting. The lifeboat then returned to the jet-ski to tow it ashore.

Back at Whitstable, conditions were too rough for the lifeboat to reverse into the trailer in the usual way, so the boat was driven in forwards into the recovery net (see pictures)
