Thames CG requested Whitstable and Sheerness lifeboats to launch to a broken down motor cruiser with one person on board who was unsure of the vessels position. Both lifeboats began searching and Sheerness Lifeboat eventually found the casualty 2 miles off Shoeburyness, Essex, from where it was towed into Queenborough.
