Whitstable Lifeboat was launched after a motor cruiser reported to Thames Coastguard that it had become unsure of its position in The Swale, and required assistance.

The lifeboat located the 26’ motor cruiser Berry Ross at Harty Ferry, where it had been able to moor to a buoy.  However the weather conditions were too bad to land the three occupants, who were all from Deal, ashore at Harty Ferry, so they were brought back to Whitstable Lifeboat Station.
