The lifeboat was launched folowing a report that a woman may have gone into the sea near the Sea View Cafe at Tankerton.

A search was commenced and was still underway when a tug, anchored off Graveney Marshes but previously anchored where the woman entered the water, called to say that she was on board.

The lifeboat then collected the woman from the tug, and landed her ashore at Whitstable.
