Whitstable Lifeboat was launched following a report from the coastguard of a canoe adrift off Seasalter.

The lifeboat crew located the craft about a ½-mile offshore between the water ski club and sailing club at Seasalter.

The canoe was considered to be in a derelict condition and showed no signs of recent occupancy and taken onboard the lifeboat. However whilst returning to station the crew carried out a search of the area but nothing was found.
