Thames CG requested Whitstable Lifeboat to launch following a report from Kent Police of a vehicle in the water at Leysdown, Isle of Sheppey. The vehicle was submerged up to its roof and there were fears that someone may have been inside.

On arrival the lifeboat found that the vehicle had been stuck on the beach since the previous afternoon, and was in the process of being recovered by its owner.

Whilst returning to station the lifeboat was tasked to a further incident.
