Details

The lifeboat was launched to assist the anging boat "Cheryl D", broken down at the Red Sand Towers, eight miles north of Whitstable.

When the lifeboat arrived on scene, the Cheryl D was found pinned against the legs of one of the forts by the very strong ebb tide. The craft, with its two occupants and a dog, was taken in tow for Whitstable Harbour.
