The lifeboat was launched following a report of three children being blown out to sea in a dinghy at Leysdown.

When the lifeboat arrived the children were seen making their way ashore through the shallows. They, and a nearby dinghy containing two boys, were kept under observation until they were safely on the beach, whereupon the lifeboat returned to station.
