Whitstable Lifeboat and Sheerness Lifeboat were both launched to assist the 27' yacht Galatea aground on the Spile Bank.

Whitstable Lifeboat put a crewman aboard the yacht, and then passed a towline from Sheerness Lifeboat. 

Once the tide had risen sufficiently, the yacht was then towed off into deeper water, and was able to continue her passage.
