Details

Thames CG requested the lifeboat to launch following a 999 call reporting three girls in an inflatable dinghy being blown offshore from Walden's Caravan Park, Seasalter.

The lifeboat found the girls, all aged 13 and 14,  400 yards offshore, and landed them and the dinghy ashore.

Whilst returning to the boathouse the lifeboat found a Mirror dinghy,  which had suffered a broken mast, 300 yards off Wavecrest, Whitstable. The single occupant, aged 14,  was trying to paddle back to the beach against the offshore breeze, and gladly accepted the offer of a tow.
