The lifeboat was launched to assist a man suffering an epileptic fit aboard the Whitstable Yacht Club commitee boat Slotty Dawes, at anchor quarter of a mile off Whitstable.

The man was placed in a stretcher, transferred to the lifeboat, and brought ashore to the boathouse, where an ambulance was waiting.
