The lifeboat launched to assist two hovercraft which had suffered engine failure between Whitstable and Leysdown. 

The first hovercraft was taken in tow, and landed ashore at Shellness.

The lifeboat then returned to the second hovercraft, and towed it back to Love's Beach, Leysdown.
