The lifeboat launched to assist the
18' yacht Buttercup, aground on a falling tide at the entrance to
Faversham Creek.
On arrival, the lifeboat found the
yacht to be too hard aground to attempt to tow off. Four of the occupants,
two adults and two children, were in the process of being transferred to
an inflatable dinghy which had come out from Hollowshore to assist.
The
owner of the yacht remained on board to take the vessel back to its mooring
when it refloated, estimated to be at around 5.30am.
Having
collected details, and wished the owner a pleasant stay, the lifeboat
returned to station.
