The lifeboat was launched to a swimmer reported in difficulties off Leysdown beach. Three other people had entered the water to try to assist him.

Whilst en route Thames CG informed the lifeboat crew that they believed all persons were now safely ashore, but requested that the lifeboat continue to check the area.

The lifeboat searched as far as Warden Point, before being released to return to station.
