The lifeboat was launched to assist the 28' yacht Ardouin, aground on the Pollard Spit at the entrance to the Swale. 

Attempts to tow the yacht off the bank were unsuccessful. As the two occupants were happy to stay on board and wait for the flood tide, the lifeboat crew laid out an anchor for them before returning to station.
