Thames CG requested the lifeboat to launch to search for a missing male, last seen at his home the previous day. There was concern that the man may have entered the water.

The lifeboat searched inshore as far west as Seasalter, whilst coastguard teams from Herne Bay searched the shoreline.

At 1030 the coastguards located the man safe and well near the Sportsman pub, and the lifeboat was released to return to station.
