The lifeboat launched following a report of a swimmer in difficulties off Whitstable Street.

The swimmer, a 28 year old woman from Canterbury,  was located 100 yds offshore. She was brought aboard the lifeboat, and then landed back onto the beach to be met by Herne Bay Mobile Coastguard Team.

She did not require any medical assistance.
