Thames CG requested the lifeboat to launch to assist a jetski broken down and on the rocks at  Herne Bay Harbour. 

At the time of the call RNLI Deputy Divisional Inspector Allen Head was at the lifeboat station, conducting one of the regular inspections of the boat and equipment, so he also came on board for the service.

When the lifeboat arrived Herne Bay Coastguard were already on scene, and passed a line from the jet ski to the lifeboat. The occupant was brought aboard the lifeboat, and the jet ski was then taken in tow and landed in Herne Bay harbour.
