The lifeboat was launched to assist a broken down rigid inflatable half a mile offshore from Bishopstone.

The boat, with two adults and two children on board, was taken in tow and landed ashore at Herne Bay Harbour.

Whilst returning to station, Thames CG requested the lifeboat to proceed up the Swale to check on the well-being of the yacht King Quest, which had gone aground earlier in the day.

The yacht was located picking up a mooring at Harty Ferry, and the occupants confimed that they had refloated successfully and were OK.
