Whitstable Lifeboat was requested to launch to assist in the search for a missing 48 year old male from the Teynham area. Sheerness Inshore Lifeboat and the Essex Police helicopter were also tasked, along with Herne Bay, Sheppey and Medway Coastguard teams.

Whitstable Lifeboat searched along the shoreline westwards from Whitstable as far as Grovehurst Jetty, Sittingbourne, and also searched  Faversham, Oare and Conyer Creeks.

After a final search of the north side of the Swale from Harty Ferry to Shellness, the lifeboat was released to return to station.
