Thames CG requested the lifeboat to launch to assist
a capsized dinghy with two people in the water off Warden Point, Isle of
Sheppey.
When the lifeboat arrived on scene the dinghy,
which had been taking part in the annual Round the Island Race, was
already righted and making it's own way ashore, with a local yacht club
safety boat in attendance.
The lifeboat was then tasked to a report of a
possible windsurfer in difficulties a mile offshore between Reculver
and Minnis Bay. On arrival this turned out to be marker buoys for fishing
nets, which had been mistaken by the first informant for a windsurfer in
the water.
