The lifeboat was launched to search for a 7 year old boy, reported missing from the vicinity of the Horsebridge, Whitstable.

Herne Bay Coastguard, Kent Police and lifeboat crew members also began to search along the beach.

At 1723 police officers found the child safe and well on the beach, and he was reunited with his family at the boathouse.
