Details

The lifeboat launched to assist a swimmer reported in difficulties off the Ship pub in Herne Bay.

However whilst the lifeboat was still proceeding to the scene, Thames Coastguard reported that the swimmer had been able to make it back to the beach.

The lifeboat was therefore released to return to station.
