Thames CG requested the lifeboat to assist in a search for a jet ski, overdue from Southend.

The craft had set out to look at the wind farm off Whitstable, but had not returned. Southend Lifeboat was already searching, along with a Coastguard fixed-wing aircraft.

Whitstable Lifeboat initially searched the area of the windfarm, and then headed out towards the Shivering Sand Towers.

Shortly afterwards the aircraft found the jetski underway off the entrance to Havengore Creek, near Shoeburyness.

Whitstable Lifeboat was therefore released to return to station.

The jetski was able to make his own way ashore. The return trip from the windfarm had taken much longer than expected, as he had become disorientated.
