The lifeboat launched to assist a windsurfer reported to be in difficulties off the Neptune Public  House, Whitstable.

The lifeboat crew located the windsurfer swimming his board and rig back to the beach. He confirmed that he would be able to reach the shore without lifeboat assistance, so was kept under observation until he was safely ashore.

The lifeboat then returned to the carriage.
