The lifeboat launched to assist a capsized sailing dinghy, with three people in the water, half a mile off Tankerton Slopes.

On arrival the lifeboat crew righted the craft, and the occupants were brought aboard the lifeboat.

They, and the dinghy, were then taken ashore and landed at Tankerton Bay Sailing Club. 

The dinghy had become totally inverted whilst capsized, and the mast had snapped.
