Whitstable Lifeboat was launched  following a report of a man in the water near to the creek bridge in Faversham.

Whilst heading to the scene Thames Coastguard advised the lifeboat crew that the man had now climbed aboard a moored raft.

The lifeboat arrived ‘on scene’ to find that the casualty had just been brought ashore by Kent Fire and Rescue. The police, an ambulance crew and the Herne Bay Mobile Coastguard Unit were also at the scene and at 23.55 the lifeboat was released from the incident and returned to station.

The male in his late twenties was subsequently taken to hospital by the ambulance.
