The lifeboat launched to a report of a capsized sailing dinghy, with one person in the water, near Herne Bay Pier head.

The lifeboat located the dinghy, and the occupant was brought aboard. His craft, which had suffered flooded buoyancy tanks, was taken under tow, and both were landed at Hampton, and met by Herne Bay Coastguard and the Coastguard Sector Manager.
