The lifeboat launched following a 999 call to Thames
Coastguard reporting an inflatable dinghy off the Long Beach struggling to make
headway against the wind and tide, with people in the water trying to
assist.
When the lifeboat arrived on scene, the dinghy had
been able to reach a moored barge, and two people who had been in
the water were climbing aboard.
The inflatable, and two female occupants, were taken
aboard the lifeboat and landed ashore at the boathouse, whilst the
remaining four members of the group made their own way ashore in their
dinghy.
