The lifeboat launched to assist a sailing dinghy
that had been reported to be continually capsizing off Herne Bay Rowing
Club.
When the lifeboat arrived on scene the two occupants
had been landed ashore by a passing boat, but the dinghy was still adrift,
inverted.
The lifeboat crew took the dinghy slowly under tow
towards the shore, a task made more difficult due to the fact that the
buoyancy tanks had filled with water, and the craft was semi-submerged and
unstable.
It was eventually landed ashore back to its owners
on the beach at Hampton.
