Whilst in Whitstable Harbour, during a
training exercise, the lifeboat was requested by Thames Coastguard to
proceed to Tankerton, following a 999 call reporting three swimmers
in difficulties off the Royal public house.
As the lifeboat arrived on scene one of the
swimmers was making his own way ashore, however the other two were
struggling approximately 200 yards offshore.
They were brought aboard the lifeboat, and
then landed ashore on the beach and met by Herne Bay Coastguard.
None of the three, all male teenagers,
required medical attention.
