The lifeboat launched to a report of a speedboat broken down off Tankerton. 

The craft was found 1/4 mile off Long Rock, Swalecliffe, with the Canterbury City Council patrol boat "Wasp" in attendance.

The lifeboat took the speedboat, which had four people on board, under tow. 

The craft and occupants were then landed ashore at Neptune Jetty, Herne Bay, and met by Herne Bay Coastguard.
