The lifeboat launched to assist an 18' angling dinghy broken down off Reculver.

The lifeboat crew located the craft anchored half a mile west of the East Last Buoy. A crewman was put aboard to assist in recovering the anchor, and the dinghy then taken under tow, with both occupants aboard the lifeboat.

After a fairly slow tow back, due to the choppy conditions, the dinghy was landed ashore at Herne Bay Harbour, to be met by Herne Bay Coastguard.
