The lifeboat launched to assist a windsurfer
reported in difficulties off Minster, Isle of Sheppey. He had been seen to
be waving for help, and was being blown out to sea by the strong offshore
wind.
The lifeboat arrived on scene and, after a brief
search, the casualty was located a mile off Warden Point. He was brought
aboard the lifeboat, along with his board and rig, and landed ashore at
Minster Beach into the care of Sheppey Coastguard.
The lifeboat then returned the nine miles back to
station.
