Whitstable Lifeboat was launched  following a report of a woman having jumped into the sea from the wall of Herne Bay Harbour.

The lifeboat arrived at the scene and commenced an extensive search of the area including around the pier whilst the Herne Bay Coastguard team searched the shore. Police were also involved.

The RAF Sea King Helicopter from Wattisham in Suffolk was also dispatched to assist.

However after around 45-minutes of searching all units were stood down when it was confirmed that the woman had safely returned home.
