Thames CG requested the lifeboat to launch to search for an 18' yacht with one person on board, believed to be in the Swale.

The craft had set out from Oare Creek sometime in the previous 24 hrs, and relatives of the owner had expressed concern for his safety.

Herne Bay Mobile Coastguard unit checked the creek and along the shoreline.

The lifeboat searched from the Pollard Spit Buoy into the Swale, and located the yacht on a mooring at Harty Ferry. Having spoken to the occupant, who confirmed that all was well, the lifeboat returned to station.
