Thames Coastguard requested the lifeboat to launch
following multiple 999 calls reporting a small catamaran which appeared
to be in difficulties, with its sails torn, off Herne Bay.
When the lifeboat arrived on scene the craft was
found to have been washed onto the beach, with the occupants indicating to
the lifeboat crew that they were okay. Herne Bay Coastguard arrived shortly
afterwards, and subsequently treated one of the occupants for a cut to the
head, sustained as they came ashore.
With no further assistance required the lifeboat
returned to station.
