Thames Coastguard requested the lifeboat to launch to search for an
overdue jetski. It had set out Whitstable, and the two occupants, an adult and a child, had been due to meet friends at Herne Bay, but had not
yet arrived.
Herne Bay Coastguard had already been searching from the shoreline with
binoculars, so the lifeboat headed out two miles offshore, to search
between the Columbine Buoy and the East Last.
When that area had been searched, Thames CG then requested the lifeboat
to search in and around the windfarm.
At 1831, the jetski and its occupants made
their way safely ashore at Herne Bay, so the lifeboat returned to station.
However, during recovery, the boat was
tasked to another incident.
