The lifeboat launched to assist a 45' motor cruiser which had broken down close inshore east of Reculver.

Margate Lifeboat was also requested, due to the size of the casualty vessel and weather and tide conditions.

When Margate Lifeboat arrived, Whitstable Lifeboat assisted in passing a towline, and also transferred a crew member from Margate Lifeboat to the casualty vessel to assist in raising the anchor.

Once this was completed, Margate Lifeboat took the craft in tow for Margate Harbour.

Whitstable Lifeboat then returned to station.
