The lifeboat was launched to assist a dinghy, at anchor with engine failure, off Neptune Jetty, Herne Bay. Herne Bay Coastguard had the craft under observation from the shore.

The lifeboat took the dinghy, which had three people and two dogs on board, and landed it ahore at the launching ramp in Herne Bay harbour, to be met by the Coastguard.

The lifeboat then returned to station.
