The lifeboat was launched following a report of two young girls in an inflatable dinghy in difficulties  at Leysdown.

The lifeboat found the girls 300 yards offshore. However, due to the state of the tide, they were only in shallow water, with one of them in the dinghy, and the other standing in the water next to it.

The lifeboat kept them under observation as they returned to the beach, and was then released to return to station.
