The lifeboat launched to a report of three people aboard an inflatable canoe being blown out to sea off Whitstable Street, Tankerton.

When the lifeboat arrived on scene the canoe and occupants were very close inshore, with a council lifeguard in attendance. Once all were seen to be safely ashore, the lifeboat returned to station.

The three people were subsequently given safety advice by Herne Bay Coastguard.
