Details Whitstable Lifeboat was launched on Tuesday evening after a report of a youth walking into the sea at Bishopstone, between Herne Bay and Reculver. Police and the Herne Bay Coastguard Unit attended the scene and a Police Helicopter was also dispatched to the area. Whilst the lifeboat and helicopter were en route the police reported that the youth was ashore. The lifeboat, by now just west of Herne Bay Pier Head, was therefore stood down, and returned to station.
