The lifeboat launched following a 999 call to Thames Coastguard reporting an inflatable dinghy 3/4 mile offshore from Leysdown, Isle of Sheppey, apparently in difficulties.

While the lifeboat was proceeding, Sheppey Coastguard Unit arrived on scene, and reported that the inflatable was now safely ashore, assisted by the onshore breeze.

The lifeboat therefore returned to station.
