The lifeboat launched to report of two people waving for help in a broken down dinghy off the West Quay of Whitstable Harbour.

As the lifeboat was launching the dinghy was seen off the Neptune pub, having drifted with the wind & tide.

The two occupants were brought aboard the lifeboat, and the craft was taken in tow for the beach next to the East Quay, from which it had set out earlier. 

They were met by Herne Bay Coastguard, who gave safety advice.
