The lifeboat launched to assist a jetski
reported broken down, and with the occupants waving for assistance,
between Hampton Pier and Herne Bay.
The lifeboat located the craft, with two
people on board, 400 yards south of Herne Bay pier Head. A speedboat was
in the process of taking the jetski in tow, so the lifeboat escorted them
back to Herne Bay harbour, to be met by Herne Bay Coastguard Unit.
The jetski had been towing an inflatable
"doughnut" ring when the tow rope got sucked into the jet's
impeller.
