Thames Coastguard requested the lifeboat to launch to assist a speedboat off the Isle of Sheppey, disabled with a broken fuel line.

The lifeboat located the craft three quarters of a mile north of Shellness. Both occupants were brought aboard the lifeboat, and the boat taken in tow for Love's Beach, Leysdown, from where it had launched earlier.

The boat and its occupants were met on arrival by Sheppey Coastguard, and the lifeboat then returned to station.
